POSITIVES

Sliding panels can be a great way to cover sliding glass doors or larger windows and they offer a stylish, contemporary alternative to vertical blinds. They can also make attractive room dividers as the track can be mounted to the ceiling if desired.

Bamboo and jute patterns are made of natural materials and their best application is where they can be used to filter direct sunlight, reduce UV rays and create soft, warm light in a room. Liners can be added to give privacy or light blocking.

Bamboo sliding panels can be matched with roman shades or bamboo roller shades in rooms with a slider and with windows. This makes them a versatile choice for many applications.

Sliding panels are only available with wand control, which means they have no cords and are a good choice for families with young children.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Sliding are operated with a wand, which pulls the leading panel. This then catches the other panels and draws them across the window. Because of their design, one panel (or two panels on a split draw shade) never moves. This means that the stationary panel can block the window, unless there is room to the side of the window for all the panels to stack back.

Always check with the customer that they have room for the panels to clear the window, or that they are OK with part of the window opening being blocked.

Bamboo panels can stretch over time, so it is advisable to order them up to an inch shorter than the desired length, in case they stretch.

Many bamboo patterns are very open and do not offer much PRIVACY without liners.
